Franklin, Jefferson and John Adams were all present that day, negotiating a pact between the US and France. Of the 3 of them, it sounds the most like pragmatic lawyer John Adams, rather than dreamer/intellectual Jefferson or scientist/potician Franklin.
ReplyDeleteOOps, I thought the question was "who asked "what good is it?". That was John Adams, 2nd President of the United States. The person who answered "what good is a new born baby?" was Ben Franklin, scientist, politician, statesman and author.
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm late, but yes, it was Benjamin Franklin indeed :)
