ERAU PhD Aviation Safety

This morning I'm heading to Paris for the beginning of a six day trip! But before I fly I have some great news:

I have been accepted in ERAU's PhD program in Aviation Safety! The adventure begins in Daytona Florida August 11th, but the journey continues here.

We are part of a team and together will make the skies safer, and continue to support our future pilots. As the workload unfolds, I will be sharing my research and posting questions welcoming your opinion into the mix.

I have a plan for safety, and it's unfolding before our eyes. You can help by promoting Flight For Control and Flight For Safety. When I finish my PhD, we can look forward to: Fight For Safety, The Truth Behind The Flight Series.  Flight For Survival is still scheduled for Fall 2015! And Flight To Success Fall 2014.

I am earning my PhD for a purpose, not for the piece of paper to hang on the wall. I'm doing this to make a difference and create change for the better...to promote air safety.

If there is anything you think worthy of researching during this process. Please let me know.

Enjoy the week... and make every moment count.

XO Karlene

  6. I told you, now remember the first rule of any school.

What do they call the person who finishes last from Medical School?

    Doctor.

You don't have to finish first, you just have to finish. I know you are going to be a great Doctor. Just remember that Docs and airplanes don't mix well.

Do you think they will start letting you give out meds when you start or is that after the second week?

By the way, the Library is the building where guys like me went to meet girls. Much better place to pick up chicks than the bar because they women there thought I actually cared about academics.

    Seriously, Congratulations.

    1. Lol... I forgot about Dr.s and planes. I might have to re-think the Bonanza. I will look for your photo on the library wall. You know... us 52 yr old students will be safe from the young boys there for one motive.
      And seriously.. Thank you!!

  8. Fantastic news! I know you were sweating over your acceptance. I laugh any time you have those nagging doubts--as CNN found out (to their delight) you're a LEADER in this business, flygirl!!

    1. Lol... oh, I suspect we all have those little fears that keep us honest. But the difference today that before, I know if it doesn't work today..it will. Failure is not the devastation that we once thought it was.
      Thank you!

  16. Congratulations! Ha! And you wondered if ERU would admit you? You have already demonstrated your ability to deal with post-grad details etc. and have much to contribute to their program. Don't worry about the titles because Spouse, Mom and Grandma always come first (though I do like 'Draption,' above. You will do just fine and your many supporters and fans know it. Wheee! Hang on for a busy couple of years. Best wishes, -C.
