You have the power to make your dreams come true
despite the obstacles that fall in your path.
Yesterday during Yoga, Will (our instructor) shared a story about a donkey that fell down the well. The farmer didn't think it was worth the effort to get him out, so he decided to fill in the well and bury the donkey alive.
Inside the well, the donkey was frightened after his fall into darkness. But surely the farmer would save him. And then the first scoop of dirt fell on his back. And then another. He soon realized what was happening and became fearful. The donkey was being buried alive.
He had two choices: Lay down and die, or shake it off and step up.
The donkey shook off each scoop of dirt that hit him, and he stepped up. Soon the well was filled and the donkey stepped up and out.
Each situation you face, is there for a reason. A lesson you need to learn. Strength you need to build. We don't get what we want in this life. We get what we need. There is a reason for everything. But whatever you do, don't lay down to die because you think the odds are against you. Shake it off and step up.
You find the cutest friends in Hawaii. Look close.
Are you going to step up and shake it off, or allow all the reasons you've created as to the impossible become your reality? The choice is yours.
These flowers are poisonous, and were used for assassinations in the good old days.
You cannot do yoga without meditation
and wisdom attached.
This morning 0630 Yoga at the beach.
Enjoy the Journey!

ReplyDeleteThank you Frank. I think this is where we all need to go.
DeleteThanks for your uplifting words of encouragement. I definitely feel like the donkey at the moment.
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome. I know you can throw anything off your back that's attacking now, and use it as your stepping stone. Before you go to sleep tonight, ask yourself how. Hang in there!
DeleteKarlene, this is such a great message. A famous spiritual leader in my community once gave a lecture on the topic of jealousy and why people have that destructive force within themselves. He said something similar to what you stated above - we don't have what we want - we have what we need - the tools we need to accomplish our lives with. Everyone has different tools and the trails to go with them. Yes, we have these trials we have to go through but if we didn't have them to begin with - we wouldn't be the strong people that we are today.
ReplyDeleteJeremy, this is so true. And the tools are there. We just need to realize what they are, and use them. Have a beautiful day.
DeleteI love the donkey story...be well!
ReplyDeleteThank you Kathy! I am being well... and each day one step closer...
