Friday Flyers...

Today is the day I was planning to draw the winners from our Women Fly event, for the inspiring book Fly Girl. But due to the fact I am at the Women in Aviation Conference... and time is flying by, I will post the names on Monday... the same day we will thank our pilots for sharing their time and planes for our incredible event.

Later this afternoon I will be interviewing scholarship recipients for the ISA scholarship. You will also find me having fun talking to all those in love with aviation. Thousands of people are mingling, connecting, and networking.

Yesterday was a great time meeting many people and connecting with old friends. Catching up. Gossiping. Talking about the industry. Talking about Flight For Control. But... there is something going on that has not happened at any of the other Women of Aviation Conferences that I've attended.

Can you guess what it is?

To all pilots who are at the 2013 Women in Aviation Conference looking for a flying job with the airline of your choice... I wish you all the best! You will make it, and I hope to fly with you one day.

It's not a matter of "if" but "when"

Patience. Perseverance. Commitment.

Have a Great Weekend!
XO Karlene

  2. Ahhh! So now I know what they mean by the black suits! I was speaking with a pilot on a brief overnight layover and mentioned that if he were to attend that he would dress in his black suit.

Have fun interviewing and most of all have a great weekend! Xo

  6. Sounds like you're having a great time, and who knew all those men would show up??? Are they there just to enjoy meeting and greeting, or are they interviewing?

    1. Yes... who knew? They are there for one purpose only. Which is kind of sad... they are losing the essence of the conference.

  7. Yes ... it most certainly is a matter of WHEN and not IF! There is more power and responsibility in when, we take control of our own success and don't delegate it to anyone else :-D

Enjoy the interviewing and the conference!

  8. I flew through Nashville today and had the opportunity to speak to a number of women who attended the conference. They all had wonderful things to say but noticed the same demographic you depict in the pictures:) I had a very nice woman on the Jumpseat who flew with you at Northwest. We had a truly enjoyable conversation. I'm sorry I missed out on all the fun!

    1. Yes... a different demographic for sure. I wish you could have dropped by. Who was in your jumpseat. I got to meet a lot of old... NWA people today. And many new Delta. A ton of fun.

    2. Her name is Charlene...I don't think I got her last name. She follows your blog, loved your book and had nothing but nice things to say about you. No surprise. She flies a 767 for Swift.

I was just passing through BNA on the first RT of a three day out of DFW. Again, sorry I missed out on all the fun, but I had fun getting to talk to some of the participants.
