Happy Veteran's Day

"Trials give you strength,
sorrows give understanding and wisdom."
 - Chuck T. Falcon

There is nothing more sobering than sitting on plane during a moment of silence while they bring a young soldier home... in the cargo compartment. Words cannot explain the reality this experience brings to the lives lost in war.

Yesterday was Veteran's Day, but today the U.S. celebrates all veterans and their service to their country.  Please share with me this moment in silence for the those veterans who are not here to celebrate their day.

  1. Thanks, Karlene, for offering a moment of reflection for those who held their beliefs higher than their own lives--

    1. Irene, what a beautiful way to express the life of a soldier.... "holding their beliefs higher than their own lives." These words give me strength to do what I need to do in my life, too.
      Thank you!

  2. Karlene, thank you so much for posting this. These photos leave such an impact and portray why we commemorate this day. To remember those who fought for our right to freedom in this country. I am proud to say that my favorite veteran was my father who was a SAC (Strategic Air Command) officer for the USAF. He was there to protect our country from going into a thermonuclear oblivion during the late 60's - early 70s. The fact that you posted this is such a tribute to the legacy of so many, my father included.

    1. Thank you for your comment Jeremy. Yes, these pictures speak volumes. You have so much to be proud of with your favorite veteran. As I know he was of you. Yes, in honor of all. Especially your father.
