Aviation Thrillers

Imagine me writing a novel, Flight For Control, with the theme of mental health embedded in the world of aviation. And then two months after my novel is released a Jet Blue captain is locked out of the flight deck, by his first officer, after he suffers from a mental breakdown. What if he hadn't been locked out? "The Flight For Series"

Karlene Petitt is an airline pilot with a passion for flying, a mission for safety and a determination to support her fellow pilots, and accomplishing this mission through writing.

"I began writing novels to create awareness of industry issues to improve safety and the pilot job: Fatigue, Pension Loss, Training Regulations, Mental Health, Safety Culture, Safety Management Systems (SMS). As the mission continues the stakes have escalated into the most recent novel, Flight For Justice where truth is scarier than fiction. We all know a person cannot be fired for reporting safety, but what airlines are doing is worse than termination. The discovery process identified more sinister behavior than we could ever imagine.

The Seventh in the Series is here!

The trial is nothing but a distraction. There is no safety without justice, and Darby, Kathryn, and the gals are back, fighting the villains of Global Air Lines. Bill Jacobs is released from prison and the game changes. The stakes increase when Covid is unleashed on world. Darby’s fight is one for the integrity of the pilot profession and the safety of passengers, but little does she know how deep the corruption runs within the FAA and Global. Will she survive? Twists and turns you will never expect in this fight for justice. Flight For Justice is the 7th novel in the Flight for Series

The Series began here...

Imagine writing a novel, Flight For Control, with the theme of mental health embedded within the world of aviation. And then two months after your novel is released a Jet Blue captain is locked out of the flight deck by his first officer, after he suffers from a mental breakdown. What if he hadn't been locked out? And then four years later a Germanwings first officer successfully locks the captain out of the fight deck and flies his plane into the mountains. Read more here...

The Second Novel in the Series...

Imagine writing a novel and Asiana crashes in San Francisco, and you have a scene that mirrors that event. And then your pilots are flying an A330 to Singapore as a storm builds, they get caught ... and two years later Air Asia takes the same route and flies into that storm but crashes. Fiction that mirrors truth.  Read more here...

The Third Novel in the Series...

Imagine being an author working on your PhD at the same time you are an airline pilot. What if all those worlds merged into one exciting adventure, where truth was scarier than fiction and the lines between your worlds blurred? You would write the novel Flight For Survival.

The Fourth Novel in the Series...

It's insane how airlines are cutting training at the expense of safety. Insanity extends to the FAA, where industry issues of automation dependency, lack of hand flying skills, confusion, and lack of understanding stem back to 1996, yet these issues are more prevalent than ever. Imagine what happens to the person challenging the system...

The Truth Shall Set You Free!

Corruption runs deep within the airline industry when Captain Darby Bradshaw is grounded and forced into a psychiatric evaluation in response to reporting safety concerns to senior leadership at Global Air Lines. What she doesn’t know is that her removal is nothing short of a conspiracy to silence her safety concerns. Privatization of ATC, approval of drone operated commercial aircraft, short-cutting training, and the untimely crash of a Boeing 737 MAX are all tied to Darby’s report. Her resultant research is about to uncover the truth. How high does this go? All the way to the White House. Not even her friends FAA Manager Kathryn Jacobs, DOT Secretary John McAllister, or Psychiatrist Linda Madden, can do anything to help her. The question is—can she save herself?

Discovery Reveals Everything...

The pursuit of justice is not for the weak. The debate is still open between which is more painful... fighting for her sanity or fighting for justice. As Darby uncovers corruption during discovery and learns of the shear ignorance of those she is fighting in management that is impacting aviation safety. Darby realizes that passenger safety is in jeopardy... more than she could ever imagine. What the reader learns is how far airline management will go, how much power they wield, and that the pilot job is in grave danger of extinction.

There is no way Global Air Lines will go to court to fight an indefensible case, is there? This is a fight between good and evil, right and wrong, and the future of the aviation as we know it. The truth is exposed in Flight For Discovery, a journey you won't want to miss.
