I wondered if you have read Hidden Warbirds: The Epic Stories of Finding, Recovering, and Rebuilding WWII's Lost Aircraft by Nicholas A. Veronico. Saw my first warbird at Oshkosh.
ReplyDeleteLiz, I have not... but it sounds wonderful. And what a great project that would be. I just need a hangar and time. lol. One day.
DeleteThere are three imperatives for adopting a safety management system for a business – these are ethical, legal and financial.
DeleteThank you Osama. I could not agree with you more. Now... if we could get everyone to believe that too.. we would be doing great!
DeleteTHANK YOU for sharing the article about accuracy in media. Especially now that anyone can put anything on the internet, accuracy becomes that much more critical because we need to stem the tide of bogus reporting. everyone thinks they're an expert, but so few truly are. Great article by Rob!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the comment Jennifer!

First up: I'm not too keen on armchair pilots, armchair travellers etc. and sometimes you make me feel a bit of an armchair person, which is a bit confronting but motivates me to do more. Secondly: my perspective on inspiration....I have wondered why respect doesn't always result in inspiration, I think it is because the "respect gradient" is not balanced, where this gradient has quality, distance and slope. Your quality of conduct and achievements are amazing but your manner reduces the length and slope of the respect gradient so that you are close to people. Regardless of the theory, you are truly inspirational! And CONGRATULATIONS on finishing the first part of your PhD.
ReplyDeleteMichael, I'm going to need to finish my PhD before I contemplate that theory and analyze it. :) Thank you so much for the comment! Yes... one quarter down and a few more to go. Thank you!
DeleteKarlene, Rob directed me to your site and boy am I glad! I just got my student pilot license and I'm glad to find other women in the field aspiring to such heights! Thanks for being an inspiration and making your story known.
ReplyDeleteWelcome! And congratulations on the student pilots license. Will you be at the women of aviation conference? Hopefully so and we can meet there. Fly safe!
DeleteKarlene, I've been a corporate and airline pilot for many years. I found your 767 single engine advice very helpful as I'm training for that aircraft now. It appears you have an impressive background, Have you read the most important book ever written? The Bible? Do you have a relationship with Jesus, the Creator of the universe! Going on the flight into eternity will be the most important one you'll ever take so do be prepared for a flight to success! Dave

ReplyDeleteHi Karlene, I would love to get involved in the blogging in formation team. I am a bush pilot that currently flies in Papua and I could bring a different perspective to the topics bought up. I'm sure you have heard about the crazy incident/accident stats in Papua (3 per month)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment. We have all been so busy we have not done this for quite awhile. With that said, if you have articles you would like to write... email me at Karlene.Petitt@gmail.com Thanks!!
