Security Clearance Required

On time departure, and we landed 45 minutes before schedule. With all early arrivals, there never seems to be a gate ready for us. But today there was more of a challenge...

The following photos require a Security Clearance. Total ground time: 1.5 hours. Why? No gate, followed by all airport operations ceased while there was a "VIP" ready to depart. The tower wasn't allowed to say who it was. But due to the fact Vice President Joe Biden was in town and Airforce Two was at the airport... we highly suspected the problem.

The flight was uneventful. Greenland gorgeous as usual. I got another landing. Auto-Thrust and Autopilot off. And Princess Fifi and I are becoming friends.

Paris next, and then I get to go home. How do you know when it's time to go home? That's part of the adventure.

Enjoy the Journey!

  1. Hmmm. VPOTUS doesn't sound all that important. After all, the job is "not worth a bucket of warm p*ss", according to one recent holder.

    1. OH... but he is a great and candid man. More of this is the show the city puts on... I suspect.

  2. I love that question, 'how do you know when it's time to go home?' Sometimes you just know in the marrow of your bones; other times not so much . . . oops. Cool pictures. (I'm guessing that last one is Greenland, not Paris. :-)

    1. Sometimes, you have one clean shirt, one pair of undies and socks and no dollar bills left for tips. Time to go home. Yes... Greenland! Paris tomorrow.

  3. Karlene, these are great photos. I went to check for them this morning on the way in to work as I was looking forward. I am sure that the site of Air Force 2 was well worth the delay in getting to the gate. Greenland looks amazing! Especially at that altitude. Welcome back to MSP a place I always love to visit on my layovers to and from GRR. Now you're off to my favorite city to visit both in real life and in front of the computer screen - Paris. Enjoy!

    1. I am here now... and time for a little nap before I hit the streets. First stop... the gardens. Photo op. Then dinner. Maybe a little wine. Yes... so much fun on the road. But looking forward to home. Thanks for the comment!
