Angels In Flight

 Giving Back to the Community...

Two years ago 19-year-old Matt Guthmiller was a Friday Flyer. At the time, he was Flying around the world solo! If you didn't read that story then, click on his name, read about an amazing young man, and then come back to see what he is doing now.

“You don’t have to be old to achieve huge endeavors.”

-Matt Guthmiller

And Matt is back to achieving huge endeavors!

What Matt is up to now:

"Basically, for the past 6 months I’ve been working on a new aviation YouTube series to share some interesting flights and just experiences that are really unique to flying with the ultimate goal of spreading aviation even further.

The first episode I released Friday the first of two parts of an Angel Flight mission from Boston to Philadelphia:

So the first episode focuses on the experience of flying a GA airplane into Boston Logan, something that a lot of GA pilots wouldn't even consider, but that I hope they might after seeing how exciting yet relatively straightforward it is. (And at the same time, hopefully enticing non-pilots by showing them how exciting that is.)

The second episode details the flight from Boston to Philadelphia (with a bit of a surprise ending for everyone involved!), while showcasing some cool views, dealing with weather, and digging into some of the details of a mission like that.

Other coming episodes feature some trips with fun destinations to convince even people outside of aviation to explore what aviation has to offer, as well as some longer adventure flights to encourage existing pilots to think about trips they might not have considered before.

In all, I want to share some unique airports, epic experiences, and even great food! I hope people of all backgrounds will better appreciate the special utility aviation has to offer."

Check out Matt's

Happy February 1st!

Enjoy the Journey!

  1. Boston/Logan seems to be exactly what it is,one of the world's leading airports.Great to see a British Airways 777 and an Aer Lingus A330 at the International Terminal. Also great to see a well stocked GA ramp.
I know that I'm getting old but it seems to me that pilots are getting younger and younger!

    1. John, I'm getting older too. But the only good thing about those pilots getting younger is that we are getting new pilots interested in aviation! Thanks for your comment!
