Fun Times in London

Someone Has Stolen My Camera!

I cannot begin to explain my sorrow. The hundreds of photos of the Tower of London (some ghosts), the river cruise, the changing of the guard and so much more.

All the adventures yesterday, the photos are gone. Today is Royal Ascot and I won't have my camera. My heart is broken. I have to ask...why people steal? Was the price of the camera more valuable than the photos I took? I don't think so. But I do have the memories and a great trip.

So for today enjoy... and I will see if I can get my phone working to take some more.

Enjoy the journey!
XO Karlene

  1. Karlene, These are excellent photos. Once again, I am sorry that it was stolen. I say post a likewise sign like you did on your suburban regarding the Christmas gifts.

For now take a deep breath and let time and nature take its course. The skies will open and the light will shine through once again.

Thinking of you all out East (or west if you're still across the pond ;)

    1. Thank you so much Jeremy! Yes... in the light of day, it is what it is. And we met some great people who are sending me their pictures. Oh...and the next day, the skies parted and the light came through!

  2. Sorry to hear about your camera - theft is a big problem throughout Europe (and come to that, in some big cities in the US). On teh positive side, I enjoyed seeing the pictures you posted - having lived for nearly 10 years in London I know exactly where each was taken! Let me know if you want a restaurant recommendation!!

On a different note - will you be going to Oshkosh this year?

    1. Thank you! We just got home and so much fun in London. Definitely going back. Yes... on OSH. But... I failed bidding and might go the first 2 days only. If I can get my room changed. That will be the challenge. Fingers crossed!

    2. Well if you don't I might see you there. I'll be camping in the vintage area by the N-S runway, but only for the 2nd weekend.

    3. Ahhh... I will be there the first two days for sure, then working my way back to Seattle for work.

  3. Ditto Jeremy's thoughts.
No one (as far as we know) was assaulted. Count your blessings. Hardware can be replaced; lives cannot. -Craig

  4. So sad. Very sad.

But again you are making me feel jealous. Royal Ascot Races. I still haven't been there. Did you like it?

  5. Karlene,

    Mean people suck.

    Beautiful people like you rock!

Tell the Queen that I asked when she is going to pay off on the bet. I gave her Denver and 9 points. She took it like a Captain at a free buffet.

    1. Lol... That's funny. I have the visual on the Captain at a free buffet... and it's not pretty.
      Thank you!!!

  6. Karlene, having your camera stolen is not a very good advert for my country for which I can only apologize.
You abilities with a camera are extremely professional.
London is a very beautiful city,I lived there for much of the 1970s & loved it.One aspect your photos capture perfectly is of course, the SKY!Look at it 10 oktas at 2000ft or so!What great weather we have!
Although I must tell you there's more to Great Britain than London, some of our countryside is stunning.

    1. John, next time we will reach more of the countryside. This was a time for experiencing a very old city and a bit of the culture. I left my camera at a restaurant. Went back to find it, and it was gone. But then that could happen in any city, anywhere. Expect for Japan... they always give things back. It was just a camera and I have more. But heartbreaking at the time. Thank you so much for the comment!

    2. I know it's just a camera, easily replaced. It's the memories it contains.I'm sure you would happily give the thief the camera in return for the photos that mean absolutely nothing to him/her.

    3. Absolutely! So.. first thought I was devastated. Then I accepted. And I may just have to go back. But it was a great trip.
