Universal Truth...

Do you have one?

Blogging information continues...

And with this comes the fun of flying and the humor behind lessons learned. Yes... we don't always find ourselves in grave danger. Oh... wait... sometimes we do. But other times we find ourselves having procedures named after us, and there are times when we are the brunt of jokes due the outcome of our experiences.

With those lessons learned we develop pilots words of wisdom that may begin as an adage but through time shift more to a maxim. But once they have been proven by many to be true, they turn to an axiom. When it applies to pilot I created the term... Paxiom... A universal truth among pilots that no longer needs proof to be true.

Captain Aux Paxioms:
  • Always take a whiz before flight.
  • Don't load up too much on coffee.
  • No lav aboard? Carry your own: an empty, gallon-sized water jug.
More Paxioms:
  • Airspeed, altitude, or brains...you need at least two.
  • Speed is life, altitude is life insurance.
  • Takeoff's are optional. Landings are mandatory.

Where did Captain Aux developed his  belief system?

"Brrrrrrrrooowwww"went the sound of my engine winding down... I nearly wet my pants. Why? Minor detail: I was still 10 miles from the airport, at an altitude of 3,500' in a single engine Grumman Cheetah.  I was a 20-something flight student working on a college degree and a CPL (commercial pilot's License)..."

Want to know what happened with the engine failure and whether or not Capn Aux made it in time? Or better yet, why there is a captain at Alaska Airlines who holds the nickname Crash? There are more fun little secrets... But you'll have to fly on over to  Adventures of Capn Aux to find these answers...and more.

What are your paxioms...
Can you call them a universal truth?

 Enjoy the Journey!

  1. Paxiom... I'm not a pilot yet, but let me see if I can create one:

    - Without a degree, you just fly a plane. With a degree, you live it.

Not sure if I this is a paxiom. But at least this is what I feel. lol

  2. All of the In Formation blog post are great reading and Eric's usually lead the pack. His wisdom is is profound, but I think his humor is even better. Thanks for joining this unusual pack, Karlene and thanks to Eric for bending our perceptions more than a bit. -C.

    1. Thank you Craig! Yes... he is the one with the smile and laughter in his life. I love it! And a great way to live. To do the job and keep a little levity. Just like the good ole days.

  3. My Paxiom : "take your time" when rushing through things.
(it will improve your reflexes and reaction time) the more you do this.
