Aeronautical Science Pathways

First Graduating Class!

Last night I had the opportunity to attend the first graduating class of Aeronautical Science Pathways program at the Seattle Museum of Flight. This is a program that enables high-school students to take aviation courses after school and get credit for college. And for free!

These students put in a full day at high school and then keep it going, well into the evening, to learn more. They often give up their sports and social activities to make this schedule work. So when they reach their success, nobody can say it was easy.

The Keynote speaker, Mr. Peter Morton, retired Boeing Executive, first jet ground school instructor, donator of his time flying kids for free, and more... was talking about when a new aircraft takes flight everyone is screaming, jumping and acting crazy when she breaks ground. That feeling best describes my what I wanted to do, when I received a message last night! But... today is about celebrating the students.
