Jet2.com Takes Flight

Boeing Delivery

Boeing Field /from Airliners.Net

Low cost airlines are now buying aircraft off the factory floor.  The word is that this is the first time Jet2.com, a low cost airline, has bought an aircraft from the factory.  This is a huge milestone and signifies the growth of the airline over the years.

They now have a mixed  fleet of 757, 737-300 and 737-800 aircraft. Their investment in new aircraft was announced HERE and then three more were ordered, making a total of 30 aircraft coming from Boeing! My friend, who works in the operations control center has shared this information with me, and is very proud of the airline's accomplishments, as he should be.

Next week you will find me at BFI as they depart Seattle for their stopover in Gander and onto Leeds they fly. Word is that the CEO will be at the ceremony.  The airline also had a competition to fly some of the public to Seattle to join the celebration

Last week, the company also announced
a massive recruitment drive!

Not too bad for a small Low Cost Carrier!

 Flight For Sanity coming soon....
Catch up on the series so you will be ready!
