Monday Motivation: Learn To Fly.

"Instead of our drab slogging forth and back to the fishing boats, there's a reason to life! We can lift ourselves out of ignorance, we can find ourselves as creatures of excellence and intelligence and skill. We can be free! We can learn to fly!"

— Richard Bach,  Johnathan Livingston Seagull, 1970.

  1. How wonderfully uplifting! (The puns just come unrequested sometimes, but I mean that sincerely.) I'm going to think about the air beneath my wings while I walk around the lake today.

    1. Yes... want to do it again? You have time. Money. Could get an airplane and fly up here in a fraction of the time. :)

  3. Any news on how Richard Bach is doing since his accident in Wash State earlier this month? (tad ironic)

    1. I'm hoping no news is good news. Last I heard is they downgraded the level of care, and he was doing much better. Yes, it is. He was in my mind and heart. One of our favorite aviation authors of the NW.

    2. "JLS" was a good read...but read his "Stranger to the Ground" to get a feel on how he feels when he flies...

  4. Karlene, remember Cathy was telling us how Richard came to speak at her FBO and supported women in aviation? Another friend of mine, Lynn, said he gave her $100 for her airplane fund! And he was always writing little inspirational stories for my girlfriend, Patsy, in Orlando! Quirky, nice guy. We need to find out where he is and send him get well cards!

    1. Yes... we do for sure. I am sure he is out of the hospital now. I'll look into it, and let you know. He is wonderful.
