Boeing 747

Boeing 737

Britten-Norman Tri-Islander

Mitsubishi MU-2

Douglas DC-9

Fairchild Republic A-10 Thunderbolt

General Dynamics F16

Boeing 727

You don’t have to be right, but you will be entered into the contest to win a copy of Barry Schiff’s book, Test Pilot, 1001 Things You thought you Knew about Aviation. Drawing to be held December 22nd.

Oh... and the answers will be posted Saturday December 17th.

But first... how fast can a year fly? It flashes by with a blink of an eye. It feels like only yesterday when I baked a cake for An and Hans' birthday. This year, I'm a bit overloaded so the baking was done by snatching last years photo the share the memory. Another year older. Another year wiser. Remember, you both get better with age.

Happy Holidays! Happy Birthday! Happy Day!

  7. Hi, Karlene!

    Couple of entries...

737: I've seen 'SLUF' applied. It stand for Short Little Ugly ...er Fellow. The very early 737-100's were called Footballs (look at the profile).

    DC-9: "Diesel-9"

F-16: Viper, Electric Jet and Lawn Dart (which it became if the computers crashed).

    727: Jurassic Jet, Three-Holer

747: always affectionately, "The Whale" (never heard of a pilot not liking that airplane).

Sorry, no input on the Shorts, the B-N's or the MU-2.

    Regards,

    Frank
