Watch out for Marketing SCAM from:

Martha Madaline emails were personal, interactive and she even provided me samples of the magazine. She told me that had hundreds of thousands of readers. Besides $250 is not a great deal for marketing. But, I've been too busy to bite. And her emails were too detailed and long, and I had too much homework, so just tried to get her to give me bite sized info on the details.

Then today I wondered.

Are they legit?

I asked AI: "Is Author Manuscriptia In Collaboration with ECW Press Legit?"


AI SAID:

No, Author Manuscriptia is not legitimate. 

"It is a known scam network that targets authors (typically self-published writers) with AI-generated phishing emails to extract upfront fees. They have no actual affiliation with the reputable Canadian independent publisher, ECW Press. [1, 2, 3, 4] Here is what you need to know: Impersonation tactics: Scammers associated with "Author Manuscriptia" frequently email writers claiming to be established authors or major publishing editors. 

They will compliment your book and offer "collaborations" or feature articles to build trust. The "Collaboration" trap: Eventually, they will ask for money for a "newspaper feature," "marketing services," or other fake production or distribution packages.

 Legitimate publishing: Reputable publishers like ECW Press do not solicit un-agented manuscripts over email or charge authors for publishing, marketing, or promotional fees. 

Always verify: Never pay for unprompted literary "opportunities," and always check official publishing house websites before engaging with anyone claiming to represent them. Did you recently receive an email or social media message from them? If you can share where they reached out to you and what they offered, I can help you identify more specific red flags in their pitch."

While I have no time to market my books, I do have time to warn my friends and readers to beware!!
