Win $3500 and Learn How to FLY!

“Have you ever dreamed of being a pilot? This year, the Arlington Fly In is awarding a $3,500 scholarship to a teen that would love to learn to fly.

Applicants must be at least 16 years old as of July 9th, 2011. To be considered, applicants must submit a written essay of at least 1,000 words, titled “Why I Want to Be A Pilot.” This scholarship is open to both US and Canadian citizens.

One winner will be awarded. The winner will be announced moments before Saturday’s singing of the National Anthem! The scholarship will be paid directly to the flight school of the winners choosing.

Winner will be selected on the following three criteria:

1. How well they articulate how they’ll use their flying skills to “do good to the world.”

2. They must be present at 9:30am - 1:00pm Saturday of the Arlington event.

3. Finalists will be notified and invited to a panel interview at 9:30am Saturday morning July 9th. The five pilot panel will select the winner by 11:30am and the winner will be announced just prior to the opening of the Saturday air show."
