We knew the V-tail Bonaza as the "fork tailed doctor killer" only because doctors (some of the few individuals with enough disposable income to buy one, and often an ego to match) had a tendency to exceed their own aeronautical abilities in an airplane that could fly faster than they could control one. <br />I was aware of one that would fly IFR before his instrument rating. It's really no wonder that some of them got spit out from thunderstorms in pieces.
