B737 Assembly Line

Amazing technology!

"Boeing produces over "52" B-737 airplanes a month! That's about one every 18 hours. How do they do it? A train arrives with the fuselage (main body section) in the morning. That starts a moving production line process that results in a completed plane, ready for flight testing, about 18 hours later. This 3 1⁄2 minute video shows the entire process, is truly fascinating."

Enjoy the Journey!

  1. What an amazing video.Although the A319/320 provide strong competition, the 737 in all its variants remains the benchmark of perfection. The Renton facility continues to produce world class aircraft.Although I must admit I have heard bad things about the Dreamliners plant in Carolina.

  3. 18 hours: I'll bet that the Wright Brothers took longer than that to build their 2nd plane, even though they had the experience of making the first one...
What occurs to me, when watching this video, is that tech progress is not gradual, but EXPONENTIAL, since each generation instinctively knows how to do something that the previous generation thought impossible, or unlikely.
Case in point: How in the world did human beings land on the moon, only 66 years after Orville Wright landed back down (after 12 seconds of flight) onto that beach at Kitty Hawk?

    1. Dan, that certainly puts this all into perspective!!! And thank you so much for letting me know blogger was eating my comments. I have found the problem and created a solution. And... it only took 300 seconds! Impossible to to reality is exponential for sure!!
      Thanks for you comment!
